After talking with the guys at Extreme Turbo Systems we got a good guideline for a baseline intercooler size. From there those dimensions were used in a freeware design program from Google called Sketchup. This allowed us to mock up our custom intercooler for fabrication. Extreme Turbo Systems has design services available but to get exactly what we wanted and to teach ourselves 3D design we decided to start with laying out a relatively simple device. As you can see, even people new to computer design can achieve good near-professional results with a little investment in time in energy. What are you doing with your laptop?
